Welcome Family And Friends

We welcome patients' family and friends during hospital visiting hours and, whenever possible, after hours if that increases a patient's comfort. Visitors will find a number of services at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, including free valet service, a gift shop, dining, Wi-Fi access and more.

Free Valet Parking

Valet parking is free and is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the hospital’s main entrance, entry to the East Medical Office Building, as well as the Women’s Pavilion.

Visiting Hours

Visitors and guests of St. Mark’s Hospital are welcome from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. To protect the safety of patients, visitors and staff, every night at 9 p.m. all doors are locked and visitors must enter and exit the hospital through designated doors — the “1220” entrance or the north side front doors of the Women’s Pavilion. The “1220” entrance (Central Medical Office Building) is located to the east of the emergency department and can be accessed from the north side of the hospital. Between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., visitors are asked to sign in, state the location they are going to and the name of the person they are visiting.

Telephones and Cellular Use

  • To make local calls from inside the hospital, press 9 and dial the number.
  • To make long distance calls, you can use a credit card, calling card or call collect. To reach an
  • outside operator, dial 9 and then 00.
  • Pay phones are also available for making long distance calls. They are located in the lobby on
  • each floor.
  • To call an extension in the hospital, simply dial the last four numbers. You do not need to
  • dial "9" before the extension number.
  • TDD phones are available upon request.
  • Due to medical monitoring equipment safety, please restrict cell phone use to hospital lobby only.

Wireless Internet Access (WiFi)

With high-speed wireless Internet access (Wi-Fi), hospital patients and visitors have fast, reliable access to the Internet and email.

Spiritual Support And Chapel

Chaplains are available to offer spiritual and emotional care and support to patients, family and friends – just call 7111 for assistance. The St. Mark’s Chapel of the Good Shepherd is located adjacent to the main lobby and is open to all for retreat and meditation.

Interpreter Services

Interpreters are available to assist non-English speaking patients and families. Call the operator for assistance, 7111.

Gift Shops

There are two gift shops in St. Mark’s Hospital. The larger gift shop is located on the main floor of the hospital, just east of the front lobby. Hours are weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; weekends from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The second, smaller gift shop is located in the lobby of the Women's Pavilion. Here you will find flowers, beverages, candy, and gift items for babies and new parents. Hours are weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and weekends from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Smoking

To promote the healthy wellbeing of our patients, families and hospital staff at St. Mark’s Hospital, smoking is only permitted at designated smoking areas on campus.

Security

St. Mark’s Hospital has a dedicated 24-hour security staff patrolling all campus buildings and hospital grounds. They respond immediately to any problem or request. If you have a security emergency or question, dial “0” for the hospital operator to inform security that you need assistance.
